• FullSizeRender-4After your appointment, keep your lashes dry for 24 hours. They need time for the glue to completely dry and adhere to the natural lash. THIS MEANS NO: steam, tears showers, swimming, excessive sweating, extreme heat, etc..
  • Absolutely NO mascara. Mascara leaves a residue on the lash line that does not come off for many days. If you are getting eyelash extensions put on and there is anything at all standing between the natural lash and the glue, the glue will adhere to the makeup residue instead of the natural eyelashes.
  • Your natural lashes have more than one layer, and three different states of growth. They are constantly shedding and being replaced by new eyelashes. (This is why you will want to get regular fills.). Please be aware that certain conditions can cause more shedding than normal, such as spring time allergies, or a hormone imbalance caused by pregnancy, etc..
  • Avoid all oil based products around your eye and eyelash area. This can include certain types of liquid or pencil eyeliner. Oil breaks down the glue and can cause glue failure.
  • Tears are meant to break down anything near the eyes, so crying can be very damaging to the eyelashes and will most likely cause the glue to fail.
  • Please be aware that your hair and skin can be a direct reflection of what is going on inside the body. Most people are unaware that if you have a hormone irregularity, immune system problems, or extreme allergies, it can affect our eyelash retention and growth. It can be difficult to know how your body will react to certain products and procedures, so please let me know if you are having any type of allergic reaction so that I may assist you in finding a solution
  • The less you get your eyelashes wet, the better they will stay. Consider using a makeup remover wipe to remove your daily eye makeup, instead of splashing with water, or a wet cotton swab.
  • After showers or if your lashes are getting unruly as they grow out, use your lash wand (provided for you at the end of our appointment), to gently brush through your lashes so that they straighten out. If you just got out of a shower you can even quickly blast them with your hairdryer (set on low/cool), to ensure that they are dry as soon as possible.
  • PLEASE DO NOT RUB OR PICK AT YOUR LASHES! Pulling a hair out of the follicle before it’s ready to naturally shed can damage the follicle, and hinder regrowth. If there is a lash out of place, try brushing it instead of picking at it.
  • Right before your next appointment, gently wash your lashes, ridding them of all residue so that the glue will adhere to the best of its ability. (Some people use a gentle no tears baby shampoo for this).

The final and most important rule of eyelash maintenance is to enjoy being beautiful! Your eyelash extensions only enhance the natural beaut that you already posses!!
